Jusu, Panelist for Just and Sustainable communities, TCNJ, 2019

Bentrice was spotlighted on the cover of "Real Women", a magazine originating from Capital Health Hospital. This feature encapsulated the immense strength of her orphan mother, who has dedicated her life to adopting over 300 young individuals in Liberia. Bentrice discussed that despite her own formidable strength as a firefighter, it pales in comparison to her mother's. Her mother, who managed to escape the Liberian civil war, is her benchmark of resilience. Bentrice makes use of key concepts from Resmaa Menakem's book, "My Grandmother's Hands", to address how generational trauma can be acknowledged and ultimately overcome through resilient practices.

Library Lecture Series

Bentrice Jusu, being honored with the WFU/WSSU Martin Luther King, Jr. Building the Dream Award, addresses her obligation to aid others, a commitment emerging from her obvious skills and challenges. The term she uniquely coined as the "cumulative ideology" serves as the discourse's basis. She articulates how her unique talents and faced obstacles have been transformed into a drive to assist others, emphasizing the imperative of collective growth and progression as reflected in her "cumulative ideology".
